The donation from the Asda Foundation will help Hospital Radio Glamorgan ensure equipment remains fit for the future alongside supporting the volunteers who give their time to keep the award-winning station on air.
Leanne Griffin, Community Champion at ASDA Leckwith Road said,
“We’re delighted that Hospital Radio Glamorgan has received £500 through Asda’s Better Together fund.
It was lovely to meet the team and hear and hear more about the work they do. The service they provide makes such a positive difference to patients, staff and visitors, helping people feel connected, entertained and less isolated during their time in hospital. It’s wonderful to know that this funding will help support essential studio and broadcasting equipment upgrades, allowing the team to continue the fantastic work they do for our local community. We’re very proud to be able to support them”.
The Asda Foundation supports local communities across the UK through grants and fundraising, helping charities and community groups make a positive difference in the areas they serve.
Hospital Radio Glamorgan Chairman, Jamie Pritchard added,
“We’re incredibly grateful to the Asda Foundation for their donation and for recognising the important role Hospital Radio Glamorgan continues to play in our community.
“As a charity run entirely by volunteers, every donation makes a real difference. It helps us maintain our facilities, invest in our volunteers and continue providing that friendly voice and sense of connection to people during what can often be a difficult or lonely time in hospital.
“We’re particularly grateful for the support as we look towards our 60th anniversary in 2027. It’s a really exciting time for us and support like this will help us make sure the station remains here for many years to come.”
