For the second year, Hospital Radio Glamorgan is partnering with Bro Radio, The Vale’s local radio station to broadcast live from the 2025 Cardiff Half Marathon.

On Sunday, 5th October, the two stations will broadcast live from 9am – 2pm outside Goose on the Loose, on Penarth Marina.

Both stations will be encouraging participants including our very own Lewis Fagg through the four-mile mark of the marathon, with their teams stationed at various points around the 13.1-mile route, sharing the atmosphere, speaking to charities and families of runners live on Bro Radio and Hospital Radio Glamorgan.

Bro Radio has been broadcasting since 2009 and broadcasts live from studios in Barry and Llantwit Major, serving the Vale of Glamorgan on FM, DAB+ and via a dedicated smart-phone app.

Like Hospital Radio Glamorgan, the station is manned by volunteers, who give their time to serve the local community.

Hospital Radio Glamorgan Trustee Andrew Woolfe said “This is a fantastic partnership, a great chance to pool resources and collectively cheer on the participants, including three of our very own volunteers, Lewis Fagg and Wayne Childs who are taking part to raise money for our station, and Andrew Lowman-Jones, who’s running it for Ty Hafan based in Sully”

Bro Radio Operations Director Nathan Spackman said “It’s great to team up with Hospital Radio Glamorgan for a second year to bring coverage of the Cardiff Half Marathon to all of our listeners. We’d like to thank Goose on the Loose in Penarth Marina for accommodating our outside broadcast vehicle for the morning and we can’t wait to encourage everyone running through the four-mile mark once again.”

You can listen to Bro Radio on FM, DAB, online and via the free Bro Radio App.

Hospital Radio Glamorgan is available via this website, free dedicated app or by asking your smart-speaker to “play Hospital Radio Glamorgan”
